Winter Wonderland

Ok, so there wasn't a lot of snow, but it was certainly quite cold! Miss Lindsey was quite spectacular despite the chilly temp. She was so sweet and spectacularly easy to talk to and a joy to photograph! Lindsey, here is just a peek of what is to come!

Little Miss E!

The lovely little Miss E was a tender 9 days old and alert as could be! It's not a surprise to see her so curious of the world around her because she has 3 beautiful and busy sisters to keep her hopping!

Gillette Family Peeks

And baby makes 5! Such a perfect number, I think! ;) We caught the last glimmer of light on the last warm day that we had. (None to soon... what is that white stuff outside my window??) It was so cute to see the boys with their baby sister. The only argument was over who was going to hold her! I think this little one is going to be well protected as she grows up.

Happy 3 Week Birthday!

This little beauty was celebrating her 3 week birthday on the day I had the pleasure of meeting her! She is the beautiful baby girl of one of my dearest friends. Congratulations, Robin!

Adventures in Photography

Introducing Miss A. and Mr. N. This duo really gave me a workout for the day! They each took me on a mini hike through the woods. I was very blessed when Miss A took me to their prayer tree. It was this huge and beautiful tree next to an open area that let the sunlight stream in. A bit later Mr. N took me through not just the woods, but a lot of muck to get to a gorgeous open field. It was well worth the trip. Thanks for the adventures!

Another highlight of the day was shooting with their uncle who is a very talented photographer! Thanks for having me join in on your session!

NYC Expo Photos

Last Saturday I went to the Photo Expo in NYC with one of my friends and her son. We had a great time checking out all of the vendors there and even got in a couple of seminars. We had planned on hitting the pavement to get some fun shots, but it seemed as though there were plenty of raindrops hitting the pavement as well. In between showers I managed to capture a few. Native American Drum Circle

A few weeks ago we went to the pumpkin farm and had the opportunity to participate in a Native American drum circle. It was so cool to see! I apologize that I can't remember the name of the group that was there. (If you know, please post a comment and remind me... thanks!) It was especially fun to see the children around them. As they watched, some of them would get a little closer, and a little closer, trying to check things out. Then, the moment one of the drumemrs would hand them a mallet, their little faces just lit right up! I have some more with my friend's daughter in the circle with them, but will have to post them later. Here is one for now, with more to come!

New Music!

October is Fire Prevention Month

It's that time of year again, folks! Be sure to find out what your local fire department is doing this month and go check it out! Looking to volunteer? Your department may have an available spot that fits your need to serve your community! Here are some images of the Apalachin Fire Department as they trained with NYSEG.

I think it goes without saying, however... kids, don't try this at home!

MySpace and the new logo!

So, my blog has been a little inactive lately... Some of my friends and clients have already discovered the reason why! D'LyndL now has a MySpace page! Head on over and check it out. Gorgeous Senior!

This has been a very busy week for D'LyndL! I got to do a "fun shoot" with a friend on Tuesday, did some volunteer shots Wednesday and Thursday, and ended this fabulous week with this lovely lady! Yvonne is such a sweetheart and we had a lot of fun! Congratulations on your senior year!

Available Dates Posted!

Available dates for October through November have been added to the calender on the D'LyndL Website. Now is the time to think ahead to the holiday cards you will be sending and those beautiful gift portraits that will be opened and treasured during the Christmas season! Also, please remember that the Portfolio Building Special is still in effect for any session that is reserved before September 21st. The special includes 50% off of the retainer fee and 15% off of a la carte print prices. Those leaves are starting to turn and I can't wait to incorporate that color into your stunning portraits!

Walking on Cloud 9

This was one of the shots from my trip to the DC area. This was shortly after we left the spa and it aptly described how Jody and I felt that day... and actually, it pretty much sums up how I feel today, too! Hope to see all of you soaring with me!

It's been a while!

Wow, I guess it's been a while since I've blogged! So much has happened in the last few weeks I don't know where to begin! You may have noticed on the site that D'LyndL's new logo has appeared. Yeah! I've been working on adding the new logo to everything that I can, and keep checking back... the new blog header will be coming soon. I'm so excited!

A couple of weeks ago I went on a whirlwind tour of the DC area. I went down for a workshop with the _amazing_ David Jay! I was a bit bummed when I heard Jasmine Star would not be there, however, Becker from The B School was there instead and he was a riot! I learned so much and came back inspired! New things will be coming down the pike for D'LyndL in the coming months thanks to the experience there! Sorry, can't tell you now... I have to save some things for later and keep you checking back, right?

The other perk of my trip was the fact that I have three of my nearest and dearest friends in that area and I was able to go see and stay with all three of them at some point in my trip. (God bless my husband for keeping his sanity having all 3 of our kids to himself for the 5 days I was gone! He was awesome!)

My final stop included spa day! My darling Jody and I have been at it for 6 years now. Every year we get together at least once and head to the spa for a little pampering. This time we hit Blades Day Spa in Richmond, VA. If you're in the area, I highly recommend it! Turns out it's owned by the sister-in-law of one of my friends here in NY! How crazy it was that Jody picked that one!

Anyway, I've been catching up and pushing forward with projects since I've gotten home, so soon, I'll post some photos for you! Thanks for checking in!

Portfolio Building Special Ends Soon!

D'LyndL's portfolio building special will be ending September 21st! Any session booked prior to September 21st will still enjoy 50% off of the retainer fee as well as 15% off a la carte print prices. Your actual session need not take place prior to September 21st. The special will be honored as long as your session time has been reserved with the paid retainer fee. I'm looking forward to the autumn sessions as the leaves begin to blaze with reds and golds! It's going to be amazing!

2009 Senior Representative!

Introducing the Class of 2009 Senior Representative, Drew! Here are a few sneak peeks. More will be coming, along with D'LyndL's new MySpace Page. Also, be on the watch, the new logo will be launching soon! But... I digress! Here's Drew! We had so much fun during his session! Even though Drew prefers the more serious expressions, he was perfectly professional and cracked up the moment I put the camera down. (Fear not Mrs. B., I did catch a couple lighter expressions!) Enough of my chatting, on to the photos!

Back from Vacation!

Hey everyone! We just got back from a fabulous vacation on the shores of Lake Erie! My husband's cousin got married there, so we took the week before to have some relaxing time away. We got to visit with family and friends, some of whom we haven't gotten to see in years! Now, we're home and settling back into the routine of things and I am back to work. So much to do after being away!

Also, later this month I will be heading to a workshop with David Jay and Jasmine Star. I can't wait! I look forward to learning a lot of new things and coming back inspired!

5 days old... or is that new?

A few posts ago you saw photos of a beautiful blonde mother-to-be. She received a precious little miracle about a week early! His name is Jayden and he is ADORABLE!! Here he is, just 5 days after his blessed arrival!

Notice in the first one how he folded his precious little hands... I think he is saying a prayer of thanks for his Mommy and Daddy!

Patient Engagement

In today's world of I-Want-It-Now, Patience seems to be a rare virtue. This couple, however, is the epitome of patience! Alaina and Chris started as high school sweethearts and have now been engaged for quite some time. They have resisted pressures to rush down the aisle so they could take time and keep their priorities for their future together in order. They are a super cute couple and a breeze to photograph together!

Also, on a sidenote, the lovely Miss Alaina is a very talented graphic designer and is currently working on D'LyndL's new logo! I look forward to sharing that with you soon!
